A Day in Ketchikan

IMG_3513

Ketchikan is the first city in Alaska and the salmon capital of the world. 17,000 years ago, it was covered in glaciers that have now carved out an incredible mountain range.

I highly recommend that you travel by jeep to cover as much of the area as possible. We did and got to tour the Misty Fjords National Monument where I witnessed parceled views of dramatic waterfalls, lush forestlands and magnificent fjords. We ended the tour with a spectacular display of the largest totem pole collection in the world.

All in all, it was a great trip and I would definitely put Ketchikan on your to-see list while in Alaska. Hope you get to visit this beautiful place.
