Fall in Paris

Paris simply gets better with every visit. Each season is special in its own way and this Fall trip did not disappoint. There is always something new to see and do. We stayed just a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe so we were in the heart of the city.

Our apartment was awesome and big enough for our Thanksgiving celebration with my son. It was an eclectic gathering; Columbian, Paris, Iowa, California, Costa Rica, England, New Orleans and Israeli being represented. It was an awesome time to gather around the table and have fun and all give thanks.

The cafes and restaurants in this area are fabulous. I highly recommend Cafe Kleiber , and Le Coq just down the street on the Square du Trocadero. There is just something special about stopping in any cafe and getting a glass of Bordeaux and savoring the moment. The service always seems to be friendly and more so when you try out your French. The staff always come alive and make every occasion special and welcoming.

The grocery stores, boulangeries, and patisseries, are dotted all over and offer a great selection. The florists are also accessible everywhere and the arrangements are awesome.

I tried out a brand new Italian restaurant Dopplio, the food was awesome. The chef and owner were a delight. The staff engaging. Big thumbs up. It’s a cab ride but well worth it. Suggest you take in Moulin Rouge or one of the shows in the area after dinner and make a night of it.

I always suggest you have dinner at Pershing Hall at least once. The menu is great. If you have walked a lot then you deserve to try their purée (mashed potatoes). They are up there with my grandmothers recipe and I thought that was impossible.

The Christmas Fair was in full swing at the end of the Champs D’ Elyses and an awesome place to buy a few Christmas gifts. Suggestion you go during the week to avoid the big weekend crowds.

Shopping is also a great experience. I recommend walking along Victor Hugo. Check out Loding Paris for great business wear.

The week flew by, it was sad to leave but one can only eat so much French bread and cheese. Next stop the gym but I already look forward to my next visit to the City of Lights.

Hope you get to put Paris on your to visit list. It will be memorable for sure.
