New Zealand is one of the most beautiful places in the world to visit and is somewhere that I recommend to anyone looking to see some awe-inspiring landscapes. Because of this, I thought it would be fun to do a little blog series on some of the best places it has to offer.
Bay Of Islands
The Bay of Islands is an amazing spot to go if you are into water sports, fishing, or sailing. Only a few hours away from Auckland, is includes exactly 144 islands that you can explore.
There are plenty of scuba companies that will take you out for an underwater adventure and you can also take a boat out to view dolphins and whales. The marine life that lives in this area is stunning and you will definitely want to bring your camera.
There is a neat rock feature called Hole in the Rock which is exactly that, a hole in a large rock. Despite the simple name this is very pretty feature and you can take boat tours directly through it if the conditions are in your favor.
This vast landscape is truly awe-inspiring. These gigantic mountain faces were created by glacier movement in the Ice Age. It’s an amazing combination of mountains and waterfalls that will tempt any nature lover to jump off their boat and go exploring.
Boat tours are the most common way that people take in this scenery but you can also go on a kayak tour if you’re up for it. It’s quite common to see penguins and dolphins during your journey so keep a camera handy!
They also have a really neat underwater observatory that lets you get a peak at the action underneath the surface. If you have the time it’s definitely worth the trip.
