A trip to the Olympic Oval in Utah is always very special. Taking in a World Cup Speed Skating competition makes it even more special and I would highly suggest you time your trip when a speed skating event is taking place. Walking around the oval never fails too give you goosebumps. The victories that our US team have had is this venue are up their with the best in the world.

Walking around the venue with past Olympic winners and current competitors is amazing. You can not get closer to the action. The sense of family is humbling in the US Speed Skate community and just being around them makes you feel better.

Less than 40 minutes away by car is Park City and another great place to visit. I stayed at the Doubletree on Park Avenue. Try their pancakes; terrific and the views of the mountains that surround you are spectacular.

The shops are quaint and remind me of walking around Breckenridge, CO. It was a balmy 70 degrees so I had to imagine the snow but it was no less enjoyable. Taking a bike ride around the area is so much fun and several hours passed almost in the blink of an eye. There are plenty of places to rent bikes.

Highly suggest that you take a tour of Blue Sky Ranch and of the distillery. It is about 20 minutes out of Park City. The facility is awesome and the process and intricacies of the operation are worth the time seeing. Take home a couple of their product and you’ll be even happier. Jack the tour guide is so passionate you can not help but love the place.

I hope you get to enjoy Utah. Stunning views. awesome people.
