Venice is one of my personal favorite cities. It has a timeless beauty. Entering by boat, which is the only sway possible, is always special and you can not visit Venice without taking a gondola.
Walking the streets of Venice is magnificent. I suggest getting an early start to miss some of the mid day “walking” congestion. Take a private tour of you can. The insights gained is worth the extra investment.
St Marks Square is wonderful and I recommend any of the square restaurants for a drink or quick lunch. Baglioni Hotel Luna on the square is a great place to stay as well.
For the more adventurous I’d recommend walking through the back streets and checking out the art and pottery. Also, a quick coat trip from Venice is the small island of Murano where you can see experts shaping glass.
Venice is definitely a place to put on your travel list. You will not be disappointed.
