Weekend in Milan

It was so good to be back in Milan. It had been twenty years since my last visit and the city is still the same; magical. The highlight of the trip was to take in a soccer match at the San Siro Stadium. The excitement of the crowd and the energy all around the stadium makes me want to get back in the event hospitality business, almost!

The architecture is impressive everywhere you turn. The Milan Cathedral is a sight to behold. The Storza Castle is a treasure trove of fine arts and crafts and I highly recommend a private tour if you have the time. We favorite night after the soccer match was an evening at the Teatro alpa Scala. Few venues compare.

The Ponta Ticinese the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum are both simply must views. As is the Plantario di Milano. Quite simply you can walk yourself ragged in Milan.

It’s a good thing there are many cafes and high end shopping to be done at Brera and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to allow you to rest up before the next sight visit.

My favorite hotel is the Mandarin Oriental and the service is as good as in New York. For dinner I would suggest Seta for traditional Italian cuisine and Lyo for awesome sushi. For drinks there are so many cafes and you will not be disappointed.

I hope you put Milan on your bucket list.
